Dr. Binoy J. Kattadiyil

Managing Director

Dr. Binoy J. Kattadiyil is the Managing Director of ICSI Institute of Insolvency Professionals (ICSI IIP) registered under Insolvency and Bankruptcy Board of India (IBBI). He has over two decades of experience in diverse fields as Corporate Governance, Private Equity and Project Development. He was earlier the Managing Director for a SEBI licensed Portfolio Management and Alternative Investment Fund company in India. Prior to that, he was the Finance Director for the iconic development of Atlantis, The Palm Jumeirah project in Middle East.

In governance, he is Doctorate (PhD) in Finance, Fellow Chartered Accountant (FCA), research Masters in Economics (MS), Masters in Business Administration (MBA) and Masters in Law (LLM).

His professional membership includes Urban Land Institute, USA; International Bar Association, UK; Indian Council of Arbitrators, New Delhi and was also member to Governance Committees of FII/FDI Securities and Investment in India.

Dr. Binoy strongly believes in the success of Insolvency and Bankruptcy law regime in India established under the revolutionary Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code, 2016. He considers IBBI’s strict timelines and monitoring under the Code (IBC), as one of the challenging contribution to the regulatory aspects of the legislation.


CS Lakshmi Arun

Head - Education & Training and Company Secretary 

Lakshmi Arun is a post graduate in commerce and a member of Institute of Company Secretaries of India. She has about two decades of combined experience with Corporate, one of big Four Consulting firm, Regulator and professional body.

She has worked for a listed Company and has handled a public issue as Compliance Officer. She has worked with Ernst & Young as Senior Associate, Corporate Advisory Services for about three years handling Company Law and FEMA Compliances of about 25 clients, besides assignments such as incorporation, setting up of branch office, FIPB applications etc.

She has also worked as Deputy Manager (Inspection and Surveillance) at Delhi Stock Exchange for about three years and have conducted the annual inspection of sub-brokers of DSE Financial Services, subsidiary of Delhi Stock Exchange and also a member of NSE and BSE.

She has been with ICSI for more than 10 years and is involved in academics and research activities. She has brought out a number of publications in the area of Capital Market, FEMA, Mergers & Amalgamation, Corporate Governance, Company Law, National Company Law Tribunal etc. She has been associated with the supporting initiatives of ICSI to Ministry of Corporate Affairs in drafting of Rules and Companies (Amendment) Acts.

Lakshmi has been working in the area of insolvency, especially in the last two years, in preparation of views of the institute on the Draft Bills, Supporting working groups of MCA in formulation of regulations, especially with reference to insolvency Professional and Insolvency Professional Agency. She has written the Manuscripts of a book titled ‘Corporate Bankruptcy –A Primer’

She is a visiting faculty at IICA for their training programme for probationary officers and senior technical assistants from Ministry of Corporate Affairs.
